D.3 had to start the game with 10 men, with Darren Freeney in centre midfield partnering DOC, Al McLoughlin right full, Baz & Jez wingers, James in goal, Steve the lone front man, & Garreth, Jay and Robbie the rest of the back line.
Vinny came on after about 10mins. Vinny went C/Back Jay R/Back and Al to C/Mid.
Jez went off injured 15mins, Tom coming on left side midfield. Dollymount had most of the chances in the 1st half, but only converted one. Freeney went 1 on 1 with the keeper and just passed the ball into the net. 1-0 half time.
About 10 minutes in the 2nd period, Tom came in from the left and squeezed the ball under the keeper. 2-0 and looking good, for all of a minute as D3 turned off and let St Mary's back into the match.
65mins. Dave OC hit a sweet ball into the box where Alan McLoughlin had made a perfectly time run. He took the ball down in front their keeper and tapped it in. Gav came on for Steve 70 mins.
With 5 minutes remaining St Mary's got it back to 3-2 but that's how it stayed.
The back line played excellent even with Gar's bad back, the whole team worked hard and helped each other out. It was a tough game to win, with all the forced positional changes. Freeney says he'll score 2 next week.
